How to read a supplement label with confidence

A product name is only the beginning. The details on the label help you compare the right things and prepare better questions before making a purchase.

1. Identify the product and its format

Check the full name, the manufacturer and whether the product comes as tablets, capsules, sachets or an oral liquid. Match these details to the product you intended to buy.

2. Find the serving information

Pack quantity and serving size are different. A box may contain several sachets or capsules, while the directions specify how to use them. Do not treat the pack size as a dosing instruction.

3. Read the ingredient list

Write down the ingredients and the amounts you want to ask about. Bring a list or photos of other supplements you take to your pharmacist or doctor; similar ingredients can appear in products with very different names.

4. Read warnings before benefits

Look for age restrictions, pregnancy or breastfeeding information, and advice about existing conditions or medication. If the wording is unclear, pause and ask rather than guessing.

5. Check the pack condition and storage details

Look for a batch number, expiry date and intact packaging. Follow the storage instructions and avoid using any product that looks tampered with or damaged.

Compare responsibly

Use the Medoj product collection to explore formats and prices. A label can help you understand the product; a qualified healthcare professional can help you decide whether it is suitable.
